Hanukkah Holiday Baking Class: Chocolate Chip Mandel Bread

Sunday, December 13, 2020
2:00 - 3:30 PM PST (5:00 - 6:30 PM EST)

Join us for some joyful holiday baking as we learn a simple and delicious recipe Chef Melissa makes to celebrate Hanukkah with her family each year. This holiday treat is based on a traditional Eastern European Jewish recipe, but with a modern twist. Softer than a traditional biscotti, this mandel bread is reminiscent of a rich chocolate chip cookie, with a crispy exterior. Sure to be a hit in your household this holiday season!

Gluten-free and dairy-free option available. Contains eggs.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • White Flour

  • Eggs

  • Vegetable Oil

  • Organic Cane Sugar

  • Baking powder

  • Vanilla Extract

  • Chocolate Chips

Tools: large mixing bowl, measuring cups, whisk, spatula, recommended: electric hand mixer, baking trays, parchment paper

Notes on Substitutions:

  • Gluten-free: sub Bob’s Red Mill 1 to 1 flour

  • Can substitute coconut oil for vegetable oil
